Ismail Airoud – His Journey in Boxing

The Beginning
Ismail Airoud was born in Italy, in the province of Bologna, on May 13, 1994, to Moroccan parents. He first stepped into a boxing gym at 16, training at Bononia Boxe under coach Luciano Menzani. Unfortunately, just a year later, his coach passed away from a heart attack, leading him to take a seven-year break from boxing. He reignited his passion in Germany, dedicating himself fully to the sport and securing multiple victories—many by knockout.

From Amateur Success to Professional Debut
In 2019, Airoud returned to Bologna and trained under coach Sergio Di Tullio, making a name for himself in the Italian boxing scene and concluding his amateur career. In 2021, he turned professional in Germany, competing internationally in Mexico, Switzerland, and Italy.

Training with the Best and Winning His First Title
He traveled multiple times to the United States, eventually settling in Las Vegas to train with Top Rank, surrounded by some of the greatest fighters in the world. Upon returning to Switzerland, he won the IBO International title with a devastating third-round knockout against former champion Egzon Maliqaj.
